![]() The very same thing I was trying to cut with Lazy Cam So I went to the website and was amazed that the tutorial for cut2d was a wing rib. After reading further I came across someone that said they had tried Cut 2D with no problems. I was reading a CNC forum and found that a lot of people were having the same problem. I thought that I was at the end of my problems until I looked at the scale of a wing rib that was scaled at 15 inches in Illustrator was imported and changed to 105 inches in Lazy Cam!!! It was a scaling nightmare again. She used Adobe Illustrator to trace the parts then export them in DXF format so that means I had to chang to Mach 3 to make life easier since it uses Lazy Cam to convert the DXF to Gcode. She broke down and decided to help out a bit. My wife the graphic artist is still laughing at my attempts to design parts. There had to be something out there that I could just scan the part into a program generate the Gcode and cut away. I tried to learn cad but the parts I wanted to make were time intensive, RC model airplane parts. I found Mach 2 as the controller software to be ok and it was fairly easy to understand but you had to have a Cad program to design whatever you wanted to cut out. Now comes the snag! Getting the software to run it was a nightmare to say the least. We came up with a simple design that can be shipped in kit form and the buyer can add their own electronics. For several months I have been trying to put together a solid work the first time cnc Dremel router and software package for the average hobbyist.Ī friend of mine and I have been designing and building a CNC desk top router that wont put a tremendous dent in your pocket. ![]()
